Wild boars kill man in Sicily

Salvatore Rinaudo, a 77-year-old man, was attacked and killed by a pack of wild boars in Cefalù, Sicily, yesterday morning. Mr Rinaudo had gone for a walk with his dogs, and was trying to shield them from the boars.

The attack was witnessed by his wife Rosa, 73.

Angelo Pizzuto, the President of the Madonie Park, admitted that an excessive number of wild boars populates the area, but bureaucratic problem have so far prevented the launch of a selective hunting campaign.
