The Italian left and the Five Stars Movement will send large delegations to Athens for the referendum on Sunday.
For the left will be present important representatives such as the MP Stefano Fassina and the Governor of Apulia Nichi Vendola. The Five Stars Movement will send its founder Beppe Grillo and about forty MPs.
The participation of the Five Stars Movement was indeed criticized by Syriza, since the Movement is technically an adversary of the left and it moonlights with very rightist parties in Brussels.
To avoid a similarly cold reception, the Italian right will not send any delegation, but it openly supports a “No” vote in the referendum.
