At the end of December a gay cook working in a restaurant in Rimini was forced by his boss to have a sexual encounter with a prostitute in the work premises in order to prove his “manhood”.
After the “test”, which was apparently part of a veritable mobbing campaign, the cook was fired anyway. He denounced his case to a local gay rights organization and asked redress to the Courts.
The Italian Parliament is still considering the Scalfarotto Bill criminalizing homosexual propaganda. The Bill is strongly opposed by conservative movements which consider it incompatible with the freedom of speech and opinion.
