Will the Venice mobile dams system work?

The New Venice Consortium, the contractor of the Italian Government tasked with building the MOSE mobile dams system to protect Venice from the high tides, admitted that the said system won’t be able to protect crucial parts of the city, including St Mark’s Square.

This is simply because the system will be triggered when the high tide reaches 110 centimeters; but 90 centimeters are enough for some parts of the city to be submerged.

The very expensive and advanced MOSE project was recently discovered to be the center of an extensive bribery system.
