Russian reconnaissance plane nearly collides with Copenhagen-Rome jet airliner

The Russian plane was probably an Ilyushin 20-M.

It was only recently revealed that on 3 March a jet airliner operated by SAS en route to Rome from Copenhagen nearly collided with a Russian reconnaissance plane flying with its transporter deactivated.

Without the signal from its transporter, a plane is invisible for another civilian plane, and thus the collision was avoid only thanks to the excellent weather and visibility.

The episode took place in the international airspace.

Since the beginning of the Ukraine crisis, the Russian Armed Forces resumed old provocative techniques dating back to the Cold War using their air force and navy. In September, the Estonian Government accused Russia of carrying out an arrest within its territory.
