Rich children get better menu in Italian kindergarten cafeteria

The Mayor of Pomezia ruled that children enrolled in the kindergartens operated by the Municipality will eat different courses according to the money paid by their families, the main difference being that “poor” children won’t get the dessert.

The decision of the Mayor, who belongs to the Five Stars Movement, was defended by Mr Renzi’s Minister of Education, Mrs Stefania Giannini.

A similar episode had happened earlier in Milan. In other cases, children were simply forbidden from using the cafeteria.
