Simpsons mock Italian corruption

During the Simpsons episode 534, aired in the United States on Sunday, anchorman Ken Brockman called Bart and Lisa’s school “more corrupted than the Italian Parliament”.

Transparency International ranks Italy as the 72nd less transparent country in the world, after Bosnia but well before Greece (94). Virtually all developed countries have a higher position, however.

In order to evict convicted MPs from Parliament the Monti Government enacted the Severino Law, which is probably going to cost Mr Berlusconi his senatorial seat.
