Priests with ‘unexpected abilities’ are funny in movies, much less in real life. Or so thought the flock of the Parish of Miroglio, near Cuneo, in Piedmont, when they discovered that their vicar, Father Franco Giuli, was under investigation both in Italy and in Switzerland for theft, forgery, traffic of drugs and fencing.
The Italian Police searched the priest’s house and found expensive clothes and perfumes.
The Parish Council resigned en masse, and the parishioners want the priest’s vicarage to be revoked. However the Bishop of Mondovì, H.E. Luciano Paconia, hasn’t granted this request yet, while ordering Father Giuli not to celebrate the Holy Mass.
