Italian victims of pedophile priests to ask redress in Church Courts

Victims of pedophile priests in the United States had trouble in getting redress from the Courts due to the diplomatic immunities to which the Holy See is entitled.

But the Catholic Church has its own Courts, and the Italian victims are going to use them in order to obtain justice.

Abuse Network, an association of Italian victims, has announced that it will go to the Diocesan Courts in order to get redress pursuant to the canon law, which of course outlaws pedophilia.

Canon law is based on Roman law, and provides for an indemnification of damages due to unlawful acts.
