Italian journalists are under fire for an interview to the 11-year-old son of the man who started a shooting spree near the Government palace in Rome.

The interview took place with the consent of the boy’s mother, but is nevertheless deemed to be in violation of an ethical Chart adopted in Italy in compliance with UN standards.

President of the Journalists’ Association Enzo Iacopino, which in Italy holds disciplinary powers, asked for investigations to be opened.

The chief of the Authority for the Protection of Children and Youngsters, Mr Vincenzo Spadafora, labeled the interview as ‘unacceptable’.
