The 63th Italian Music Festival will end this evening with the proclamation of the winner.
Despite being a former professional singer, Mr. Silvio Berlusconi didn’t participate, but he could have won anyway in some sense.
The show, however, gave him one major satisfaction when comedian Maurizio Crozza was booed by some Berlusconi’s supporters while impersonating him. The haters were just a handful, and they were promptly expelled, but they nevertheless managed to disturb the show, with Mr. Crozza clearly giving a subdued performance.
The Festival got record shares (something which is not assured every year), and in the end this a good news for Berlusconi, too. In fact the Festival, despite being a leftist show is his mind (or at least in his words…), is targeted to older and more conservative audiences, which are also Berlusconi’s electoral pool.
