An Italian branch of the far-right Greek movement Golden Dawn now claims to exist, although it is not known if it is officially recognized by the original Greek party.
By the way, the Italian Golden Dawn has an official site, while at present it looks quite amateurish. There you can find the official political program of the movement, which sounds quite puzzling. For example, in the economic section you can read: ‘Banknotes can be multiplied and spent at will, as long as prices are kept still… Golden Dawn want to pay creditors with purposely printed and State-sanctioned liras, to be used to buy Italian goods only. Very soon this system will result, almost spontaneously, in international barter agreements. We won’t need anymore foreign currency like euro or dollar to buy raw goods, since we won’t buy or sell as long as it is necessary… a strict cooperation in the energy field with Venezuelan brothers (the ruling class there comes from Italy), a special relationship with Argentina (the ruling class there comes from Italy) and many other things will propel the New Italy’.
According to the Italian edition of The Huffington Post, almost nobody was present at the movement Constituent Assembly which was held in Rome yesterday.
It is unclear which relationship exists, if any, between the movement and other Italian neo-fascist organizations.
